News update 12/02/08

Its been a while since I gave this place some attention, my computer went kaput and I am very lazy.
Below is a preview of whats around to ride in the bristol area (takes a minute to load) featuring Nibley, Still, Forest of Dean and Redhill 4X Track.

News update 22/10/07

Video seems to be going down a storm, thanks for all the feedback i'm glad you like it. I should take this chance to say that I left some people out of the credits (Bwian!) Give me a break guys it was about 2am and I was pissed off with the whole thing. Its too late to change the version on google video but I will change it for when I put it on DVD for ya.
I have put some pics up from this weekend and from a load of places around Bristol. Check em out in the GALLERY.
I though TranquilEnglish tee shirts would be a gay idea but due to popular demand on the holiday, you can now buy them from our STORE. I'm not here to make money so there as cheap as they will let me sell them, I just thought I would be cool to see bikes and riders with something I made on their backs. Any requests for a particular design - let me know.

News update 09/09/07

Cornwall, If you want to ride bikes in the south of England, go to Cornwall. This is no joke, it's the mutt's nuts for sheer variety of cycling terrain, in one week we rode street, park, downhill, free ride, trials, dirt trails and even some cross country. If you do venture in that direction I highly recommend going to The Track
which has one of the largest outdoor foam pits in the country and some big trails. Anyway, I have uploaded some new photos for y'all, some are not strictly cycling related but shit happens. After spending the last week expecting to be kicked off the campsite by security I have to say it's good to be home, well in my new home anyway. Loads of funny stuff happened like lil lee getting his leg put in a cast, getting hammered every night, throwing stones at seagulls and Dirty Dave being his general legendarily C*nty self.
Off to Bristol BMX track tomorrow.
I'll leave you with this defining pic from the holiday.

Rock on.

race order

Plenty of news this update, beginning with the BMX regional at Andover BMX track a couple of weeks back on August 5th. The Andover rider, young John Cable got airlifted away after his crash on the first straight (photos soon) Get well soon mate.
The reason I was at the race was due to some hair brained idea that I would race my 4X bike in the novice cruiser class. Unfortunately there was not enough entrants for that so I was put in the next class up (having never raced or even been on a gate before!) I ended up racing against the 20"s and came 4th in the first moto 4th in the second and crashed for 7th in the third and forth.
Super speedy Dan Wyhte won a cruiser frame and the 19+ class and Jayson Lewis won the masters.
I highly recommend giving racing a go, if you have a BMX that is because its a fucking ball ache on a hardtail with DH tyres. Full details about the regional and the crash can be found here!
In other news the much talked about annual Newquay bike and drink-o-thon organised by Ritchwa is set for the 31st of August, all places are booked and despite moving house it looks like I shall be attending for the first time. (Cheers Bwian!)
Watch this space for further drinking.
I'd just like to also mention that the new video is coming along nicely and should be finished within the next month or so, keep checking back.
Finally, slightly off topic, for all those attending my leaving BBQ please can I remind you to bring a bit of booze and/or food with you if you are planning on staying for more than 5 minutes. There are about 25 people who have said they will be turning up and I can't afford to feed you all!
Ciao!

News update 21/07/07

Today me and Philpot gave a hand to one of the guys who runs andover BMX club, who was setting up a new air ram for the Andover BMX track start gate. The funding for this ram comes direct from TVBC and represents a significant investment in the club facilities by TVBC.
The grand opening of the (now working) gate will be this Tuesday (the 24th) and will be attended by the local press and councilors. If you want to see the BMX track full of riders, this is the time to get off your arse and come down.
As I said in my earlier post there are new photos up in the gallery, check em out.

News update 30/06/07

Its only three days before we depart to Morzine, so expect a full set of photos and a vid or two in the next few months. I have added a weather feed and a webcam from the bottom of the Plenny DH run in Morzine (hit f5 to refresh it), see if you can see a black Bighit ridden by a guy wearing a white green and brown Thor race top.

Bloody hell, an update!
It's been a while since I gave this place some attention so it's only recently that I realised that the guestbook had stopped working, somehow the write to permission on the guestbook.txt file had been disallowed.
I hate computers.
I have uploaded some new pics to the GALLERY of the track I shall mention later and some other stuff.
On a more important subject, work is progressing well with the super secret downhill track in location X. Although my pictures dont do it much justice, most people who have seen it so far have commented that it looks like something out of a video from Whistler (that's British Columbia, Canada for those who don't know). Although not as steep and no where near as long, they do say quality is better than quantity and we're all pleased as punch with the results so far (Pic below)
Finally some important news with regard to the continuation of this website. In about 3-4 months I will be moving to Bristol and won't be around much in the Hampshire area, therefore the content of this website will be broadening to include to whatever scene is in Bristol. I'm sure this is going to include plenty of cwmcarn and other welsh runs, who knows maybe ill be forced in to a skate park.
That is it as far as news goes, Id just like to say thanks to all of the local riders Mat, Rob, Andy (Heres to France 2007!) Dave, lil Lee, Ritchwa, Dangerous Bwian, Balex, Jesus Chris, The Andover BMX club guys (the ones that know me) and last but not least.. Lee Philpot - the reason I first started riding. Cheers dude. (and anyone I missed)
Wherever I end up or whatever happens to this website..

Ride on my friends.

A belated Happy New Year to all of our visitors.
The website is finally back up after a months downtime, due to heavy traffic using all of our allocated bandwidth in the first two days of January. If you are a member of the jeep forum that this traffic came from then please E mail me at administrator@tranquilenglish.co.uk as I am unable to find the link on your site.
In other news we are back to riding most weekends and should be visiting Bournmouth BMX track this weekend, contact me or the Pot if you want in.
Heres to 2007.

News update 21/12/06

Christmas is crap, bah bumhug.
Its bloody freezing outside, not much has been going on for the past couple of months other than the occasional trip to the BMX track and Rogate, roll on spring.
Today I have uploaded a big selection of new photos from the past two years, kind of a best of 2005 and 2006, everything from the Jeep incident, NASS 05 through to some snaps from a cold day at Charlton last week.

Enjoy

This evening I uploaded a completely re-edited version of the summer video featuring different music and new footage including the pallet jumping session from three weeks ago. Let me know what you think via our forum.

News update 16/10/06

First some good news, Rogate is up and running again (hooray!) Its being run as a membership based club with the land being secured for at least until end of 2007. To ride there you need to send off a membership form (obtainable from many of the locals) and five British pounds. This will buy you a nice little sticker for your bike and the right to ride a spot that’s as close to all-weather downhill as you can get in this country. Defiantly worth a fiver imo
Secondly, I was told yesterday that the Charlton BMX track is probably going to be resurfaced in the next few weeks, possibly with the berms being covered in tarmac. I was up there all day yesterday and got talking to the guy from Andover BMX club who is responsible for maintaining it. He said the aim is to eventually provide an all weather facility, their problem is Hampshire County Council having short arms and deep pockets.....
Finally, as you can see I have changed the site content, fiddled around with some stuff and added a new forum. Hopefully the new forum will actually work and we can perhaps get a bit of a community going here. Whether you're a regular visitor or just a casual observer please drop in and say hi.

Ciao
